MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK:

Murchison Falls National Park is situated 305 km form Kampala in the west of Uganda. It is about 6 hours from Kampala.

The Park comprises of itself, Bugungu and Karuma Wildlife reserves. This is where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos and crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation is characterized by savannah, forest and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, Oribis, Uganda Kobs, Chimpanzees, and many bird species including the rare Shoebill Stork.

This is one of the most fabulous parks in Uganda, it definitely is the largest one.  The falls alone are worth the trip.  It may not be the widest falls in Africa, but for raw power, there is no match.  The 50 meter wide Nile roars down 45 meters through a 7 meter opening creating sights and sounds that are unmatched.

You can take a 3 hour Nile river cruise where you view animals just like on a game drive.  Schools of Hippos, groups of crocodiles, lots of elephants, buffaloes and countless of birds all while you gently cruise along.

If you like to fish, there is nothing as sporting as the giant Nile Perch...we can arrange that perfect fishing trip for you...all at Experience Uganda Safaris.
